By the end of this year, Robert and Deanna Porter, founders of R&S Integrated Products and Services Inc of Lakeland, FL., will have racked up over 750,000 miles providing Laserfiche software and professional services. It’s really a drop in the bucket if you multiply that by all the miles they’ve accumulated in their 10 years as a Laserfiche reseller. But it’s been well worth the trip with hundreds of Laserfiche installations. “We expect our Laserfiche revenues to double over last year’s numbers,” said Robert Porter, adding, “Our sales to existing clients have improved by 150%.” [You might state more explicitly that it’s their 10 year anniversary.]

 As R&S celebrates its 10^th year as a Laserfiche reseller, they remember back to the beginning. It was October of 1993 and the couple had set out into the world of electronic document imaging, then in its infancy.  “We were fascinated with the capability to scan hard copy documents, create an image and store and index this data for easy and quick retrieval via a network or laser disc,” Robert Porter said. Their research brought them to Laserfiche, and they became resellers. “The simple-to-use interface, quick installation and setup, portable data volumes and word and phrase searches were the main reasons R&S chose Laserfiche as the cornerstone for the future,” Robert said.

 R&S saw the need for document imaging in state and local government and chose to focus the company’s energy there. The cities of Miami and Boca Raton are among their favorites because of the varied departments using Laserfiche and the diverse project requirements. “The most interesting projects are always the ones that require a difficult data conversion and/or integration,” Robert said. “Many times we’ve had to invent and develop the data integration techniques….The benefits for the customer’s organization from the effort are enormous.”

According to Robert, R&S has accumulated over 50 years of Laserfiche knowledge and experience with its group of associates- Robert and Deanna contributing 22 of those years. CTO John Van Buskirk, Account Executive Mike Hagins, Office Manager Helga Smith, Manager of Program Development, Arti Singh, Technical Support/Production Manager Leanne Katz, and other members of the R&S team bring the additional 28.

Even with 10 solid years under their belts, the Porters aren’t resting on past accomplishments. R&S continues to add to its experience and has big plans for the future, including refining its sales and marketing strategies and broadening their efforts to include new verticals and new horizons.
